Details
I have been a teacher of English as a Foreign Language for more than 20 years and I have taught students at all levels. I worked as an Academic Consultant at a language institute in Mexico City and English Coordinator of a private K-12 school and this is where I started my exciting Teacher Training career that brought me into contact with people from different publishing houses. Before I knew it, I found myself as an Academic Consultant and Speaker at MacMillan Publishers, Mexico for three years. Here, we developed a program called MTTP (MacMillan Teacher-Training Program), which we gave to numerous teachers in various cities of the country during the course of three years.
I was Regional Coordinator of the English Department for De La Salle Secretariat for The Educational Mission for four years. I was in charge of the English Department for more than 18 schools located in different states in the southern part of Mexico and aside from my regular responsibilities (visiting schools, observing classes, examining both, teachers and students, etc) I organized several seminars for the teachers’ constant development, as well as workshops for students so they could apply what they were learning.
I have given workshops in Child Development, Learning Styles, Psychomotor Skill, Methodology, Lesson Planning, Multiple Intelligences, and The Art of Teaching at seminars in Mexico City, Cancun, Acapulco, Tampico, Merida, San Luis Potosi, Puebla, and Aguascalientes.
I recently moved to Chicago and working with i–to-i has given me the opportunity to do what I love most… TEACH!
