Q. Do I need a TEFL/TESOL certificate to teach abroad?

A. Answer:

That's a bit like asking whether you need to take a driving test to get behind the wheel of a car. Yes, you'll be able to make the car go forwards and backwards without much training, but you'll probably end up bumping into a few things! So, you can certainly find TEFL jobs abroad by just being a native English speaker, but would you want to? By doing a TEFL course, you'll open the door to better opportunities, be better prepared and make life much easier for yourself. Oh, and you'll hopefully avoid bumping into any TEFL disasters along the way!
