They've clearly never heard of Metallica!
Hi again! Ecuador would be amazing- did you know the Ecuadorian government is changing their visitation rules for the Galapagos Islands starting next year? Basically to help the sustainability of the islands, which is fantastic but we don't know how it will effect tourism. (ie. maybe flights to the Galapagos will go up and it will be more difficult to visit). Now's a good time to visit!
I've never been to South America but it's on my list!! Just be careful when going to Columbia- make sure you check the Canadian foreign affairs website to see the Country Profile and laws before visiting! Safety and security are important!!
You are right- escaping the winter is necessary...

That's cool - it's not a bad idea to go somewhere you've been before to avoid the dreaded cutlure shock! Good luck with the rest of the course and finding jobs - let me know how you get on!
I wouldn't say words of wisdom... but I reckon you should certainly chat to people who are out there at the minute to get their take on things:
Ecuador: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/pedrodominguez and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/monakadi. It's also worth chatting to Alix and Kallen, who have both just found jobs in Ecuador - think Kallen has just started and Alix will be heading out soon: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/kallenfranchise and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/alixm09/
Costa Rica: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/cdebutts and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/mrdfoster
Indonesia: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/robertclarke
I'd say it's probably easier to find work in Indonesia if this is your first job, but if south America's what your heart's set on, it's certainly not out of the question! Have you started on a TEFL course yet?
Hey,
Thanks for the add - where are you planning on heading on your TEFL adventures?
If you have any questions feel free to get in touch :)
Thanks. I hope to see you in Ecuador one day.
