Dear Lisa,
I am a senior engineer who passed the i-to-i complete "set" a couple of days ago. My intention is to retire in Warsaw where I have relatives and teach business / technical English in private schools. Do you think there is a demand? I won't do this for money only, rather for social purposes.
NB: I am French and know a bit of Polish.
Anticipated thanks for your advices!

Hi all!,

I have just recently signed up for the Poland Internship! Im very excited and nervous too... well more so on how to cope with the freezing winter temperatures!!

I hope to meet some of you out there :)

hi lisa, how do you find teaching the callan method? is it handy or annoying after a while? are you allowed  to modify it in some way?

how was your accomodation? how many are you sharing with? is internet access easy to get in the accomodation if i bring my laptop?

sorry for all the questions, its great to find someone already there, there's very little info on this particular internship....

thanks!

suz:)

Hi again! Not sure if you've already seen but three new arrival dates for August/September have been announced now! Hurrah! You can find them here: http://www.onlinetefl.com/teaching-internships/poland/?source=chalkboard

Hope that helps :) Katie

Aw thanks, I'll keep a look out, thanks for replying. I just find it more difficult to find information on it than the other internships though

Hi Catherine!

Stay tuned... Dates are being announced this coming Monday :) There are even more arrival dates and spaces this year because the last one was so popular and sold out so quickly! Katie

Hi, a friend and I are interested in the Poland internship beginning August 2012 but we can't find any information about it. Is the internship definitely starting at this time? Can you send me any information please? Thanks, Catherine

Hi Cameron!

Sorry I must have missed your question, we run them every six months or so, the next one is starting in August 2012, so all being well the next one will be around Jan/Feb time... we can keep you posted though!

Katie

Hi Lisa,

I was wondering if you knew if the Poland internship happens every year? and if so, does it always start in Feb? I am interested in doing it sometime in 2013...

Thanks, Cameron - Australia

Cheers Lisa, much appreciated :)

@Cathal.. Hey, don't worry about the questions, if I were you I'd ask anything I could haha!! :) So the whole Polish phone thing is very inexpensive - it shouldn't put a dent in your moneyload!! I would 100% bring your laptop if at all possible; we use ours ALL the time in our apartment because we use them as t.v's/for films and for contact etc. Also, if you'll have to do some presentation/lecture in school it's best to have your laptop at the ready :) I didn't bring any extra materials for teaching, and to be honest I'm glad because I wouldn't have needed them - everything you will need is provided. Home comforts.. I would go with things like tea, chocolate.. Depends what you like, but I just got my family to send me anything I yearned for haha!! Hope that helps a little...

If you have any more questions, feel free to throw them my way!!

Hey Lisa.
I'm flying out in less than a week and i guess there are a few little things i'm wondering about! Is it inexpensive to get a polish phone up and running? Would you recommend bringing a laptop or is internet access available most of the time? Also would you recommend bringing certain things with you from home that 1. may help you with your teaching and 2.certain home comforts that are difficult to get in Poland. Sorry for the barrage of questions! :)

Cathal.

@clairelouise Nice to hear from you, thanks for your question. To be honest, I don't know that much about the other internships. What attracted me to the Internship in Poland was that I'd still be in Europe (close to home) as it was my first teaching experience so I didn't want to be too far away just in case it didn't work out for me. As exotic as China & Thailand are, Poland also has wonderful things to see and do; it's a really great country and the people are fantastically friendly. I have written a blog about why I like Poland; here's the link if you want to look at it, it might give you some more information: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-blog/2012/02/08/5-great-reasons-to-check-into-poland

If there anything specific you would like to know, feel free to get back to me :)

Heya! Thanks for the message!! I am considering doing an internship next year, but I don't know much about the Poland internship, how does it compare with the Thailand or China internship?

Speak soon.
