I figured it's time for another update of my path to TEFL, and Japan.
Last I said I was attending a school o get my A&P license, get a job working on airplanes and use said job to fund my Bachelor's and TEFL, yadda yadda yadda.
Wel things are going well. I am steaming through school fairly well, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I've taken the General portion of my FAA written test, passed on the first time. Didn't pay a dime, thanks to perfect attendance. I just need to get through the remaining school, take my Oral & Practical test and my writtens for Airframe and Powerplant. And my FCC test since I also signed up for Avionics.
I am out of the General portion of the school, too. Halfway done with Airframe I. I've learned a lot about things I had no clue pertained to the aviation industry.
I've already chosen what my major will be in when I go for my Bachelor's. I'll be shooting for a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance...of all things. I've even batted the idea around of going for a Masters as a mechanism to open more doors of teaching English in Japan, but those are just passing thoughts for now. I need to get the basics out of the way and get back to Japan ASAP.
Further related to this leg of my quest for TEFL and Japan, I found out why my A&P will get me credit toward the degree. Because f I were going for the Bachelor's from a fresh start, getting hte A&P certificate would have been part of the coursework.
Every mod in this A&P school I get through is another month closer to returning the Japan. I've made great progress, let's hope I don't screw it all up, yeah?
