I have not one job... but TWO in Serbia!!!
I enrolled in a Serbian language course to help me out. Figured maybe if my Serbian was better that I might have a little extra luck with finding work. Well..it kind of worked out similar to that! My Serbian teacher put me in contact with an AMAZING language school....and they hired me!!! (Job 1!)
Sidenote about the school: Small but still good student count - 400-500 students expected, maybe more this coming year. VERY laid back and easy going. Only dress code is don't come in naked. Hehehe. No strict and crazy lesson plan requirements. The teachers are the best in helping me already and we still have almost a month before school starts!! Most of the students are 19-30 age range which is my preferred age range. I will satellite to a nearby town to give the students in that location a native teacher a couple times through the semester. Pay is good.. and I'll be working roughly 20 in class hours a week. :)))
So.. that's job one. I had a gentleman contact me who owns and runs a website/organization that is geared toward foreigners living in Belgrade. He wanted to hire me but didn't know if he'd be able to help me with my visa. He told me that most of this employees have this as a second job, for just a little extra cash. But he loved my personality, my interests, and said they would do so well with the project he's trying to launch. So I called him back and let him know that I had the teaching job.. and now I'll be meeting with him next to discuss details of what he will be wanting from me. I will be a professional blogger for the website talking about all the goodies about Belgrade and living here - places to see, things to do, foods to eat, photos, tips... everything!
So.. seems like it was a good idea to come back from Ukraine! :))

Celeste, my biggest piece of advice is trust your instinct. I knew from the beginning that Ukraine wasn't a good idea.. but I did it anyway. However, I learned my lesson from it and was rewarded with work upon returning to Serbia. So you know how things pan out. Hehehe... The other tip is make sure you research the schools as much as possible. I almost accepted a position in Kuwait that after looking into the school more I'm glad I hadn't. There wasn't ONE nice review or thing said about the school. One previous teacher/parent even started a full blog about the school. So just make sure you dig around.
And no worries!! I'll keep everyone updated! :)) Just means I might not be online much anymore between both except to work. Oh well.. I don't mind one bit!
Congratulations! That's fantastic news. Both jobs sounds great, well done!!
Well done! I'm so happy for you - means that whole Ukraine fiasco happened for a reason! Make sure you keep us updated with how the teaching goes :)
