Serbia Bound

The last straws fell today.  When talking with the previous native English teacher who's in town visiting another teacher, I found out many many things about this school.  Like promising to help with visas and not, causing the previous teacher to have to leave the country every 90 days to stay legal.  The contract isn't valid as it isn't issued by the courts.  I haven't even signed one anyway.

There is much much more I could list, also.  However, those are VERY big ones to be concerned about.

Bought my ticket back to Serbia tonight.  Not sure how I'll get to the airport, but I'll figure it out. Not sure I can count on my employer to take me to the airport like they picked me up.  So we'll see how that happens.

I'm back to beautiful Serbia Sunday morning.  Cannot wait either!!

Talk to you guys later!

Thanks Mark!  I hate that it didn't work out either.  I was really looking forward to spending the time here trying to research my family.  But this school is just chaotic.  I'm too Type-A for the director's lack of organization, structure, and punctuality.  There were days she'd tell us to be there at a certain time and not show up until an hour or more later.  She'd never apologize, never do anything.. act like there was nothing wrong with it.  But if it would have been one of us, we would have been in so much trouble.  I found out from a previous English teacher from the UK that they promise to help with visa and such and never do.  The previous teacher had to leave every 90 days to renew her stay.  They gets tiresome quick! I know I did it in Serbia.  This time I'm headed back to Serbia as a student of Serbian language.  It'll benefit me as well.  Not like it's a waste of money.

Just can't wait to leave.  It's 1422 now here in Ukraine, I fly out at 2035 to Kiev, stuck in Kiev overnight then Belgrade at 0800!  Cannot wait!  Can't come soon enough... looking forward to throwing my arms around my boyfriend.. ;))))

Hi Kiki,I have been getting stuck into my 120 so have not been in the forum recetly.I caught up on your blog and I'm Really sorry it did not work out for you in the Ukraine, and I hope your trip back to Serbia will be without incidents...

So great to hear your Serbia bound, good wishes, safe trip, talk to ya.x

Thank you ladies!!!

I'm ready to be there!  I will try Ukraine as a tourist maybe.. but not for teaching. Not anytime soon. And when I told the director that I was leaving.. she was furious. Said I had done her wrong and then asked if I would stay long enough to find a replacement.  Told her I couldn't do it.  I knew if I did it would me that they'd take their time.  Not doing it.

On Serbian soil around 8am Sunday (local time).. woohooo!
