This has come up before about many of us needing apostille certified copies of documents and how to go about doing and such..
Anyone have any suggestions if you're like me in Serbia, about to head to Ukraine, from the USA, and will need an apostille certified copy of your i-to-i certificate(s)? I'm about to be in this boat and would love at least a map or an oar to help me on this rough ride. LOL
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Honor. As always you have great information. I'll take a look at that site you gave me and I'll contact Alix. I haven't apostilized the other TEFL certificate because I'm not sure how to do it as it was online also minus 20 hours I had to log for practicum. The organization is based out of Illinois, USA. So I had assumed I would have to go thru Illinois to get it apostilized.
The US embassy said they cannot apostilize anything that it has to be done in the state/country in which it was given/issued. Which makes my life interesting.. birth certificate NC, TEFL Institute is in Illinois, i-to-i is UK, on top of my criminal record and such... so if I have to follow that notion.. I get to have fun. -_-
Thanks again!

Hey,
I've just had a double check with the guys in our courses team - what they've come back with is that for an i-to-i certificate you would get it apostilized either in the country you're resident in when you do the course (Serbia) or your home country (the States). Because it's an online course you don't get it done in the country it's issued in. You might want to ask Alix's advice as I know she's American and had to get it done to go to Ecuador: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/alixm09. This may not be a massive help as I know you're still finishing off a few bits on your i-to-i course so will not have it for a while - are you apostilizing your other TEFL certificate?
Usually you'd go to your embassy to get it done if you're not at home, but if you haven't had any luck there you might want to try these guys for their advice: http://www.apostilleinfo.com/serbia.htm
Hope that helps!
I know the certificate has to be apostilized in whatever state/country it was issued. So in the case of i-to-i.. it goes to the UK. How's a US citizen to go about this issue?
Just got back from my embassy here in Serbia... can't be done here. Only where it was issued. This is beyond a nightmare.
Ouch... apostilizing certificates is always a nightmare!
I think you might have to send your certificate back to the states to get it apostilized in your home state. There's a list here: http://www.footprintsrecruiting.com/visa-information/apostilles-usa You might want to contact the relevant office to ask for thier advice about whether you can get it done it Serbia.
Good luck!
