Ahhh.. Still Loving Serbia!!

So it's been ages since I've written here.  Things are going great here in Serbia with the school I work at.  I'm prepping my students for mid-terms right now.  They take them the first week of February. :)  Everything here in Serbia is still going so well for me!!  Cannot wait to see how things continue.  January 28th will make one year here.  Been working since October and I love it still!! My students are...

Traditional Fun!

Had a blast today with my bestie here in Serbia.  She dances in a troupe.  It is a traditional folklore troupe, performing dances from various regions in various costumes from Serbia.  So beautiful to watch!   Well, today, we dressed me in 5 of her costumes.  I've posted a few pictures in my album of some of the many photos.  Had so much fun!  We also agreed that I could no longer deny the fact I'm...

Could it be!?!?!?!

I have not one job... but TWO in Serbia!!!  I enrolled in a Serbian language course to help me out.  Figured maybe if my Serbian was better that I might have a little extra luck with finding work.  Well..it kind of worked out similar to that!  My Serbian teacher put me in contact with an AMAZING language school....and they hired me!!!  (Job 1!)   Sidenote about the school:  Small but still good student count - 400-500...

Been away too long!!

OK!  So I'm back in Belgrade, Serbia!!!  Have been since the 29th of August.  Started a Serbian language course after reading that being in a language course could give me access to an extended stay permit over 90 days.  HOWEVER, the language course (and all of them that are Serbian for Foreigners) cannot give the proper documents to achieve such a thing, due to the way the Ministry of Education classifies them.. this put a...

Serbia Bound

The last straws fell today.  When talking with the previous native English teacher who's in town visiting another teacher, I found out many many things about this school.  Like promising to help with visas and not, causing the previous teacher to have to leave the country every 90 days to stay legal.  The contract isn't valid as it isn't issued by the courts.  I haven't even signed one anyway. There is much much more I...

Ukraine Update...

Well as a few of you know.. Ukraine hasn't been the best to me.  Still isn't unfortunately. But I do love the girls I work with.  We all hate the school and the owners (married couple playing manager and director).  I've been lost in some shit section of town. Wouldn't be an issue too much but Donetsk doesn't believe in street signs. And of course, I don't know Russian.  Can we say interesting?  My manager...

Well...Ukraine...

Okay.. I'm honestly surprised by my almost 24 hours in Ukraine so far.   Blankly... I'm miserable.  Not including being separated from the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, but this trip has been Hell since I landed.. actually before I landed.  From the rudest and worst airports, to arrogant ill-mannered men and stuck up women... and for the first time, I want to run away from something.  I'm not...

Curiosity...

Most of us study the cultures of the places we are headed to. I want to know though... How many think to study the mythology and ancient ways of the culture?

So it is...

I got my last two certificates this morning when I woke up.  I'm done!  Woohoo!!  What a relieve, too!!  I have 8 more days in Serbia (including the day I fly out) and I'd rather not spend it worrying about uni work and TEFL.. no offense my i-to-i family.  I want to enjoy my last week with my boyfriend before my only sight of him is a Skype convo... Oh these next four months until...

Question about Apostille...

This has come up before about many of us needing apostille certified copies of documents and how to go about doing and such..   Anyone have any suggestions if you're like me in Serbia, about to head to Ukraine, from the USA, and will need an apostille certified copy of your i-to-i certificate(s)?  I'm about to be in this boat and would love at least a map or an oar to help me on this...
