I am a 24 year old English Graduate who has always been tempted to teach English abroad but never quite had the push or motivation to do it. However after much pondering and contemplation I am like sophie get off your fat behind and go for it!! I am excited and a little nervous about the adventures that lie ahead. I am interested in yoga, animals, fancy dress, singing karaoke, eating as much thai cuisine as possible and most importantly meeting new people and experiencing new things! I am hoping that tefl will help me to do this! Currently my aim is to stay in the cold and save a little and then hopefully start applying for jobs next summer <3 <3

Hi Sophie, thanks for adding me as a friend. Are you thinking of heading to Asia too? I'm considering China as well as Thailand as I imagine there will be plenty of work. Are you doing an internship or independant travel? That's my big conundrum atm!
Best wishes
Hey
I came here independently, however, I did come with my boyfriend. We have split up now though. I was really nervous but it is so easy to make friends here and there are some really great people. I am having an awesome time. You'll love it. Go for it! :)
._. I think you are mistaken i don't work in china and i don't recolect messaging you but if you want any info you should get in contact with rin i think she is teaching in china.
Thank you
Hey,
Doing a 120 hour course plus the weekend course you have already done will certainly be enough to find work in both South Korea and China. If you're thinking of going to China have you looked into doing an internship? The internship in China is a good scheme if you don't have any teaching experience as its fully supported and a 120 hour course is included with that, not sure if that would be something that interests you but you can get more information here:
http://www.onlinetefl.com/teaching-internships/china/
Also you may want to have a chat to these members who are currently teaching in South Korea and China:
China- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/rozel09 and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/roberts121 (Sophie was on the teach in China internship and is now teaching in South Korea so might be good for you to have a chat with her to help you decide!)
South Korea- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/lintse07
Hope this helps and if you want any more information about TEFL courses or finding work just ask!
Laura
Hey there.
Saw your comment on someones wall. Thought I may be able to help. I am teaching in China. Your TEFL cert will be more than enough to teach here. For Korea however, you need a BA. Which from looking at your 'about me' it looks like you have. With that degree, you can teach anywhere. Except maybe HK. You need a degree in teaching for that.
Good luck!
Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard! Great to see you're interested in teaching abroad. TEFL is a great way to experience new things and meet new people!Have you thought about where you would like to teach?
To get you started on the site you may want to take a look at the groups to get a good idea of what teaching in different countries is like:
