About Me

Hi, nice to meet you all.
I've really enjoyed the tefl course with i-to-i, and my teaching in India has been a positive and interesting experience.
My day to day employment is as a Branch Librarian which I enjoy very much.  I did the TEFL course in order to do volunteer work in India.  Because I took the online course, I am now planning to take a weekend course also, I think that it would be interesting to see how other TEFL teachers get on.  It is my plan to go back to India in the winter of 2011.

Experiences teaching in South India

After receiving my TEFL qualifications last autumn, I spent a lot of time this past winter in India, I was working in an orphanage in Mylavaram, Andhra Pradesh, South India.  The orphanage comes under the Raja Foundation and is called the “Daddy Home.”  There are about one hundred children there, including some children infected with HIV.  One of the Raja Foundation's recent projects is an international private school, the proceeds of which are intended to...

Just to let my friends know that I am not login on because my mum is in hospital after a major stroke at age 88 and we are fearing she won't live long now. I'll be in touch again soon.

Thank you for adding me....I love to hear what everyone is doing...where are you teaching after India?

Hello Robyn, thanks for adding me.  Yes you are right the children are adorable and it is such a nice experience to be able to do something with them, they are so eager to learn.  I am planning to return to India winter of 2011 going to the same orphanage in Andhra Pradesh.  Wishing you a good time for the next term.

Hi, thanks for the comment on my ESL class, it's all good fun and I am really looking forward to Term 4 next week. I love your photos, the colours are just amazing. You look like you are doing some great work in India. It must be an amazing place for reasons both good and not so good. When are you heading back? It would be great to keep in touch and follow your work over there. Cheers Robyn
