Doing the TEFL internship in China as i want to get an feel with what teaching is about before ultimately deciding if i do a PGCE in the near future. Hope to be placed in North China and enjoy the nice cold winter and discover what crazy winter sports the Chinese may play.

Hey I have just booked my flight to china and think that we are on the same flight from Dubai to Beijing, as I am leaving from Birmingham. Wondered if you would like to meet when we get to Dubai? As would be nice to have some company for the flight. Also have you looked in to where you are staying until the internship actually starts?
Amy x
taken me 4 months but passed the i to i 120hour with no resits :) and with a meagre 1 day to spare. Now time to start learning some Mandarin and to read some books based on China. China still feels such a long way away but at least the only stumbling block now is the visa.
No work until i leave so now got plenty of time to slowly get material and ideas ready raiding theose TEFL/ESL websites for my inspirational lessons.
Thanks for the feedback Simon unfortunatley i've written the question down and started my response a number of times but don't quite manage to finish any of them... Makes me feel better knowing that i'm not the only one who's gonna have to shape up or not ship out tho!
Yeah, I was looking at the people, and I feel like I'll be the odd one out, being an American. It's very weird to think that is the case, but I'm cool with that! Lorelei is actually a German name-I'm half German, half Irish, but next to the actual Irish I'll just be an American. :)
I think it'd be great to meet everyone beforehand. Of course, we probably won't see much of each other during the five months.
I'm not too worried about the culture shock just yet-I'm studying some Chinese on the side just so I don't go in completely clueless!
Hello Simon nice to meet ya, thank you for your comment the other day, did not get to comment back as i had a lot on my mind like always..lol I am hoping to book the china internship for the end of September but I am a little bit worried about raising all the money in time, also if I get accepted onto the PGCE course next year, I really want to do this as well, but nevertheless I will talk to the organiser about it, and see what happens.
Hi Simon, nice to "meet" some other people going to China in 2011...can't wait to get there!Talk to you soon :)
Hey Simon! Small world, eh?! I'm very much looking forward to it. Dorset is beautiful but get me out of here!!
