Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi SCecilia, nice to meet you. If you want to do an online TEFL course this one is ok. However, if you have no experience at all it would be best to do one that has a classroom component - so the internship would give you valuable classroom exposure. However, they don't pay you, I think you pay them???? Check that. I haven't done an internship - I taught in Spain for several years and I'm now teaching in NZ - but I think it could be a great way to learn, plus travel and meet new people. Have you chatted to anyone in the forum? You could start a conversation there to find people who did the China internship. I know they do these yearly so they must be organised and safe for people. Good luck! Let me know what you choose to do. Cheers, Sheri
Hello.
Thanks for adding me.
Yes, finally somebody with experience of teaching abroad!!!!
Im am intrested in the paid China Internship for twelve months. When you get there are you safe and are there decent instructors there?
I want to do a TEFL Course but am apprehensive as Im unsure of the companies relability.
How have you found it and have you been on any paid internships?
Sylvia.
Ouch, finding it hard to motivate an elementary class who are re-doing the level as they haven't learnt the language well enough to go up. I'm being as creative as possible but they are stubborn!! This is one of those situations that crop up now and then - time for them to accept responsibility for their learning as well. I often talk about 'active participation' and to me that means using the idiom outside the classroom, watching the news, reading newspapers/books etc. They do nothing! Now I've added 'carrots' to the stick by the way of prizes for students who achieve something each week. Madre mia, why wasn't I a politician instead? :D
Hi Zambia,
Yes, this is real, It's a site for people who teach English. It can be effective as people will answer any questions you have, or try to help you with stuff. If you want to Teach English the minimum you should have is a TEFL qualification which you can do online with this site. Good luck.
hello Sherifox,my name is simon and am from kenya i came across this site and i wanted enguire about it.is it real?would you reccommend some body to join it or how is it effective.my interest is to teach english in china.
Finally the warm weather is here and all the students are smiling again. They are always surprised at how hot the sun feels even when the temp is low (e.g. 21 degC). No-one believes you can burn in only 15mins here in NZ, but it's true! Currently have a lovely mix of Russian, Korean, Brazilian, Japanese and Chinese students.
