Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountI've just read your comments, i cant believe you havent been accepted. It doesnt make much sense really!! You sound like a perfect candidate. On a lighter note a friend of mine is in China teaching and he did it on his own, no i to i no TTC. He just sent off for jobs and got one. He is about an hour outside of Shanghai and has been there for 3 years now. I will ask him to sign up to Chalkboard and give you some tips if you like? Chin up x
thank you so much Rin for your comments and info I would love to get the person you knows contact, that would help me alot.
thank you again.x
Hey there,
I only just read your comment sorry.
Well, to be honest, I came out here with my fella, it is doable totally alone, however, i can tell you it'd be really daunting.
If you are generally interested I can give you the contact email of an agent I know in China, He has experience in placing teachers in China without degrees. :) Also, it is likely he will help you out in your first month or so, depending on what time of year you get here. i.e. providing free home stay, part time teaching work, general help. (you need it if you don't speak Chinese) etc.
Try not to let the internship bother you too much. I know it's disapointing. I couldn't do the internship either.
Take care! :) x
Hey,
I signed up back in late March and got my acceptance in early May.
Have just read your comments below and you should insist on them giving you a reason.
Thank you hun, yeah maybe that was it. I get so wound up sometimes, cause it was made to seam that it should e smooth sailing.
I dont think there placements are full, but couldn't be sure, im looking out to see if anyone has been unsuccessful. But yeah, im sure bigger and better things are going to happen.
Thank you for your kind words.x
And you've asked people at i-to-i about it, and no one can tell you why? Maybe the amount of people allowed had been met? I'm sorry to hear about this. I believe everything happens for a reason though. I came to Serbia looking for work as I moved here for my boyfriend. No one in this city that I speak with can believe I'm having to move out of country for work. Everyone thought I would have extreme luck looking for work. But instead, I'm headed to Ukraine in August. So, something good is bound to come of it all. Just have patience... keep asking questions and keep trying.
i have no idea, i got an email saying i was unsuccesful, im so pissed off i dont even know whats going on, i fit there requirements and i speak fluent english and have finished my course by the end of this week.
im so annoyed, and no one can tell me any answers.
I was told only a small amount of people dont get accepted and its normally due to language barrier but i speak english prfectly its my mother tongue.
Why are you not going to China?
I am 27 years old, I am an actress from the UK trying to find a break to get away from work.
I am half Saudi Arabian half Jamaican
I surfed for the Jamaican National Team in 2007
I dibble dabble in modeling
I speak French and Arabic conversationally
I have an older sister
I have travelled to France, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Egypt, Jamaica, Trinidad, Brazil, Miami, LA, NY, Shanghai, Dubai, South Africa.
I have experience working with kids, I currently babysit in my spare time, and I worked for Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Play scheme as a play worker.
My highest level of education is a National Diploma in Sport and Science from Kingston College (I always wanted to be a PE Teacher)
Lucky for me in regards to this course I got a B in both English Language & English Literature for GCSE's (They finally come to some use)
I am in excellent health conditions thanks to my sporty background
I have no police record and have had a police check from working previously with children
And I totally get cultural sensitivity with having a strict Saudi father and a totally liberal Jamaican mother.
I have had work experience, I worked in a school in Egypt as Head of Sports Department
And I have had plenty of independent travel experience
The list could go on.........
NOT GOING CHINA :(
