I'm interested in mostly Western Europe...
Hi,
Even if you've got teaching experience you will need do a TEFL cert of at least 120 hours if Europe's where you're interested in going. Schools also usually wanted native speakers, however they may make exceptions for fluent non-native speakers, especially if you do have teaching experience.
Where is it in Europe you're interested in teaching? I think without a degree you'll mostly be looking at the Czech Republic.
Eligibility? In general, who is eligible to teach in Europe?
I've gone through that article. So basically I need to get a certificate.
I have had teaching experience during my younger years; I taught students at Secondary level. Would that be relevant and enough, or do I need something more?
Thank you for the info...
Hey Michael,
Teaching without a degree certainly IS possible - you might want to check out this article for more information: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/travel-guides/135-Do-I-Need-a-Degree-to-TEFL-
The quickest way to get certified is to do an accredited and internationally-recognized TEFL course, such as those offered by i-to-i: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-course/. It's that simple!
Good luck and if you have any other questions get in touch.
What is the best way to get certified or become a fully certified teacher?
Teaching without a degree - Is it feasible?
Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard! That's great that you're wanting to teach abroad - where are you hoping to head?
Good luck with it all and if you have any questions feel free to give me a shout!
