I'm 27 and grew up in north London but living in Hertfordshire at the moment. I went to India twice last year to teach which I enjoyed and I would like to go back to India at some point. I am going to China in August on the internship. I'm normally very laid back but I have to say I'm like a little boy waiting for Christmas at the moment! I've decided that I'm going travelling for a few years and then probably move back to Ireland to live with my family. I'm hoping go around south east Asia and then on to South America. Feel free to add me on Facebook if you want shogan1982@yahoo.co.uk

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountAlright Sean, how's it for you? Are you at the Happy Dragon Hostel now? I've there since earlier today. JamesB is here too. Too knackered to hook up with the guys and girls at the Far East Youth Hostel so slept the jet lag off instead. I'll PM you my number and maybe sort something for tomorrow. No big plans, was thinking the traditional hutongs but flexible...
China tomorrow!!!
Hey - I think - a tentative time - to meet up at the zoo could be 8am - So that those coming early can have time getting stuff together and don't have to twiddle their thumbs until they meet up. We can all hang out in the area if those coming in the morning are delayed too. Let me know (on my wall or whatever) about what you think and if that is ok - those in the same hostels can come together or separate if you haven't met up yet.

I can't believe you did India in six weeks on £300!!!!
I'm not sure how long or where i wanna go afterwards, definitly spending till my visa runs out in China, then heading on down into Southeast asia. Not really got much of a plan, thought i'd just wait and see what happens. Got myself a Southeast asia on shoe string LP guide, thought i'd try and do as much of that area as i can. Have a return ticket but it's valid for year.
What about you? I saw you fancied seeing Southeast asia then south america, anywhere in particular, or just everywhere?
Preparations are going ok, sent of for my visa to and won't be happy till i have it in my hand! I've got a back pack sorted to, planning on doing some serious travelling afterwards so went for a pretty small one and plan on taking a little suitcase specifically for China, full of lots of wooly stuff i can throw away after as knowing my luck i'll end up in coldest place! Not sure what to take as i've read someppl were teaching in suits and others in jeans and t-shirts :-S
I did think about going earlier, but then i managed to get a job so working right up until the 18th and flying out of London on the 22nd. I'm hoping that this is gonna be the start of some epic travelling to, don't really have anything to go back to the uk for. Just finished uni, no idea what i want to do!
So excited it is unbelievable!
Hey Sean
Sounds like your pretty well travelled already, this is a first for me, and i have no idea what to expect! Can't wait to get out there though. Reality not hit me yet that this time next month i'll be in China! How are ur preparations going? Have u got ur visa yet?
Amy :-)
Good man. My application is going in the post tomorrow so finges crossed and all that.
It seems that most people are getting in Beijing early, i'm getting there on the 23rd. I agreed to fly out on sunday because i thought i'd get another football game in on the last saturday, then the good people of the fa moved it to sunday to put it on telly so i'll now be watching that match in heathrow!
Have a blast with your first few days and i'll see you in a few weeks pal
Alright. If it's a crack den I take the blame, if it's a brothel it's your schtick. If it's just a nice, reasonably priced, clean-living hostel in central Beijing, then we just have a drink and enjoy the ride? Deal?
