Hello everyone,
Sorry it has been a while... have not had Internet for about a week so have not been posting much lately.
Anyway, just want to let you know that I have finally stop being a wuss and made a final decision on what to do with my life for the next 15 months or so.
I have finally decided and replied to take the job in Thailand which starts in May. I am just waiting to hear back from the nice lady now re:final details. Hopefully she has not offered the job to someone else like she did with the other position.
I have also applied and been accepted on the Pueblo Ingles program as suggested by Robert Clarke (Thanks Rob!) and will be doing that in March. Have booked my flights and hostels so am getting quite excited about that.
Am also in the process of looking into some marine conservation work out in Malaysia between March - April to kill some more time before heading out to Thailand for 1st May.
If anyone got any other suggestions of meaningful but low cost things that I can do between now and May then please do let me know.
Just for the sake of sharing information - during the recent months of job hunting, I have learnt the following -
- If you want to teach abroad, first thing is get all your visa documents ready!- 120 hours of TEFL is not that easy
- plan your time well!- Lots of Korean and Japanese positions available between Jan - Feb time...
- Always general Google the school or agency - I have found some really bad comments on the net about a Japanese / US run agency which helped me to turn down a job in Japan!
Anyway, that's all from me for now. Stay cool and will post again soon.
Sandy

Hi Sandy!
Congrats on the job! I came across this website that has volunteer work you might want to look into http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cms/ShowPage/Home_page/Public_and_Voluntary_Sector/Volunteers_wanted/p!ejFkkke . Let us know how Pueblo Ingles program goes!
Thanks Honor! The farming thing looks really interesting. Definitely will look into it! Cheers for the advice.
Hey Sandy,
Sounds like you've got it all worked out pretty much! Thanks very much for the job hunting tips too - useful stuff.
In terms of something to do between now and May, if you want to be abroad you might want to look into WWOOFing - you get free board and food in return for working on organic farms around the world: http://www.wwoof.org.uk/.
That, or just sign-on and ride it out at home while watching day-time TV!
