Finally... some good news!!

So, after another couple of sleepless nights, I have finally heard back about my Thai interview... drum roll please!!!

The lovely lady didn't get in touch on Friday as she said she would, but I did receive an e-mail first thing this morning saying although she had offered the job I initially applied for (kindergarden) to a more experienced candidate of that age group, because she is so impress with my application and interview, she is offering me another job teaching drama and teenagers!!!

This is great news but the job doesn't start until May which means another 4 months for me to wait before I can start my adventure!!! I am very keen to do some volunteering and marine conservation work between now and then but they all seem to be very pricey, which is a massive issue for me at the mo. Any suggestions??!!!

That's great Sandy, wish you all the best! Wish I could trade places with you! :)

Our pleasure - just make sure you keep us updated about how you get on when you get out there!

Thanks for all your top tips and the website i-to-i!

Congratulations!!

That's fantastic about your job in Thailand and teaching drama sounds really fun.

Just apply on the website and choose your preffered dates, Then they review your application and offer you the dates within about a week usually. When you are confirmed just book your flights and accomodation in Madrid for as long as you like before and after your program dates. That's all you pay for; Flights pre/post accomodation in Madrid, Hotel bar bill, any personal purchases. I have been to Cazorla for 14 days with Pueblo Ingles and that is a very nice hotel in the middle of a small town that is very hilly, I mean extremely! You walk up a hill and to get back to your hotel you have to walk up another hill! haha and I went to Gredos with Vaugahan which is in the foothills of the mountains! really beautiful and tranquil especially early in the morning, The villiage is about 30 min away so you can't walk there during a one-to-one but walking down the country lanes is just as nice if not more so. You can always put on the application you were reccommended by a friend 'Robert Clarke' that might help your chances but as long as you can speak English fluently there should be no problem. We had a Frenchmen in Gredos! Any other questions let me know!

Robert! You are a super star! That is absolutely billiant and I am definitely keen. So do I apply on the websites or do I need to be recommended? Thank you so much for all your top tips! S

If you dont mind where you volunteer Spain has two interesting companies that offer volunteer work, and it's FREE volunteer work. 10hrs of light conversational English with Spaniards in exchange for a room in a 4/5* hotel and food (buffet breakfast + 2x 3 course meal, with as much table wine as you can drink).

First one is for 5 days they are Vaughan Town www.vaughantown.com/EnglishNew/indexenglish.asp

The second is Pueblo Ingles and they are 7 days www.morethanenglish.com/anglos/index.asp

I have done both programs and they are GREAT fun, you get to meet some really interesting people both Spaniard and Anglo. The programs are basically the same as they used to be just one (Vaughan) but the CEOs had a disagreement or something and PI was formed, thats what the Spaniards told me anyway. Now is also a good time to go as the weather is Spain this time of year is nice. I went last Feb/March and did 3 programs. Let me know if you want more info
