For the past three years I have been searching for a job teaching English in Japan without success. I have been very discouraged to find that my degree in theatre seems to be of little help in finding a career in a country I have so much interest in. I know I can be a great teacher when I am given the chance.
My husband is starting a two year master's program at the University of Tokyo in the fall of 2012. We hope to stay in Japan for at least two years, but maybe longer. Because funds are limited, I am staying in the US and my current job until I can find something, but I hope we won't have to be apart to long.
Taking this TEFL course is going to help me have more skills that I can use in my search for a job- but most importantly more hope.
