Rozel09’s Blog

'Twas the Night before China, when all through the house...not a creature was stirring...well, almost

Well...It’s 2am and after spending the last hour lying in bed, wide awake, with thoughts whirling round my head, I thought I may as well get up, make myself a hot chocolate and have a cuddle with my cat. He is now purring in my ear as I write and tapping me with his paw to get some attention. Silly Angel. Going to miss him and our conversations! (if you met my cat, you’d understand).

So, China  - today I guess! Flying  out from Heathrow in the afternoon. This last week has been just a series of events, things to check off my seemingly endless list. I’m not actually sure where the time has gone, although this moment has felt like it’s been a very long time coming. Just over a month ago I was amongst the many stressing over TEFL assignment deadlines. I am now also pretty well acquainted with the i-to-i team! I have lost track of the amount of phone calls made... (thank you Rachel, if you read this! Such patience...)

I’m just relieved that I am finally ready to go! Well, in the material sense. I have everything I need (literally cannot fit another thing into my bag!) ...but could now just do with a crystal ball so I know what to expect when I arrive in school. You get so caught up in the preparations; it almost slips your mind that we will all actually be teaching very soon! What a very different lifestyle it will be. I can’t wait to start!

I suppose I really should attempt to sleep. But I’m just too excited! It’s like Christmas and Birthday, all rolled into one!!! Might just go and raid the kitchen again...I’m sure I spotted some hot cross buns. Good night all, next stop Beijing!
