I'm a Surrey girl, born and bred, and having lived in the same 10 mile radius my entire life, I decided it was about time to follow some of those dreams and head off to distant shores to experience life from a new viewpoint!
I completed the 120 hour TEFL course and signed up to participate in the China Internship, starting in February 2010.
I also agreed to be an 'official blogger' for the Teach in China Internship programme, so have a read of my experiences and please feel free to ask me any questions (I'll try my best to answer them!)

Mendee from Mongolia gave me your contact details as I am planning on spending a few months out there this summer volunteering with them. I was wondering if I could pick your brain over what it is like out there and also a few questions on travel/visa etc... would be a great help. Please let me know,
Many thanks,
Ed
Hi,
I am looking to go to China and teach English From June - October 2011 and wonder if you could point me in the right direction? I gather I can't do an Internship with these dates. Where do you reccomend I go? Who should I speak with?
Many thanks,
Catherine
Hi,
Are you looking to work in China?
Do you want to work with Kindergarten children?
Do you want a good Salary?
Do you want weekends off and two ½ days?
If you do, please contact me today. Our kindergarten needs teachers for the new semester starting September. We also have vacancies in our training centers. We are based in GuangZhou, Dongguan, and Foshan all in Guangdong Province, China.
Our school is called CIEO (Canadian International Education Organization)
If you want more details then please get in touch, If you know someone who might be interested then please forward this to them.
If you can’t start September don’t worry, you can still apply as we need teachers throughout the year!
All the best,
Robert
Hi Rozel!
I'm heading on the china internship in August so I'm busy checking out your blogs!! I have a questions for you, although I'm sure you're fed up with questions! What is the best way to carry money, relying on cards to withdraw money, convert cash in airport, bring RMB with you...What would be your advice?
Hi there, sorry for the random add. Honor told me that you had just finished the China TEFL Internship, and that you would be a great source to have and I will definitely check out your blogs. Hope you had an ace time. Peace Out - Charlotte
So, i'm back again with another question. I'm starting to think that you must be forced to spend all your time being cordial and answering questions! So I apologize in advance, but I have started gathering things to pack, bug spray and blue tack in my bag, but I wanted to ask you a question, purely based in vanity, about a blowdryer. For some reason I must have the highest voltage/watts blowdryers known to man and my converters cannot convert the voltage, do you think that while i'm in beijing I could most likely pick up a cheap blowdryer somewhere? Sorry again for such a pointless questions, I just have a lot of hair with a mind of it's own, and the thought of never even having a chance to straighten it is giving me heart burn!
Hiya Rozel09,
Thank you for keeping us up to date. I'm interested in coming to China to teach after August this year. Do you have any suggestions about what is the best region to teach? I had in mind Fujian, Jinjiang, but there are not too many jobs listed in all the usual places.....any suggestions would be appreciated.....
Take care
Simon
Hiya. :)
Forgot to ask. What is your facebook address? I'll add you if thats ok? Be good to keep up will all your travelling!! :)
I'm sure you're on overload with all kinds of questions about what to expect or take, etc. I love reading your blogs and can only hope that in August I will be lucky enough to enjoy myself half as much as you seem to be. I wanted to ask you about your phone, did you bring a phone from home or did you pick one up in China? I just want to make sure I have contact with someone! And, what did you pack or recommend to pack that you wouldn't be able to do without? Enjoy the rest of your time! And thanks for being such an amazing blogger that gets me more excited day by day!
