After three years of teaching to adults and teenagers, I'm (hopefully) about to embark on a new career journey: teaching to kindergarten children (aged 3-5)!!
A friend of mine owns a kindergarten and asked me last week if I was interested in teaching English to children attending it. At first, I was scared to death at the mere idea, then I thought of it and finally started to feel excited about it!
I went to the 'interview', which went well, had the chance to see the kids there and I'm now waiting for a final answer to see if/when I can start this new experience!
I'm still pretty 'scared' at the thought of teaching such young children (I'm used to adults, who require a lot of grammar and conversation), but I'm also taking it as a chance to use what I learnt in the TEFL Young Learners Module I passed a few months ago. This is also a chance to reinvent myself as a teacher and use different (and more flexible) methods.
While I wait to know the interview result, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and looking for material to use...We'll see what comes out of this!! :)

Thanks!! :) Yes, it is! It's in my hometown, Piacenza. I'm still waiting for an answer from my friend, but at this point I really hope I'm getting the job, because I think it'll be a great opportunity...Plus, I hear teaching children can be very rewarding, because they are so open to learning and give you a lot in return!!...I'm keeping my fingers crossed here!! :)
Best of luck with teaching the kids! Is this in Italy that the kindergarten's based?
