About Me

I'm an Italian mothertongue and I've been teaching English, Spanish and Italian for three years now. I'm also a freelance translator and I love connecting with colleagues from all over the world.
I've recently become passionate about organic food and cosmetics and I'm trying to improve my cooking skills!! :)
If I reincarnated to be someone else, I'd love to be a flamenco dancer, as I've been studying this wonderful art for three years and it has definitely conquered my heart for good.

Feedback on my interview in Madrid...

Hi everyone! I haven't been online much lately, I know! I wish I followed this website more, but lately a few things happened and I haven't been able to... Well, first of all I received an email from the person who interviewed me in Madrid two weeks ago! This is the text of that email: "Dear Romina, Thank you for sending me the information I requested and please excuse the delay in replying to you....

First interview in Madrid...Not much impressed!

Hi guys! I'm finally back on Chalkboard, after a few days in which I haven't had time to connect. Well, so last week I went to Madrid for my interview, as enthusiastic as I could be... Apart from a very bad start (plane awfully late, broken glasses) I arrived 'safely' at the interview. And I wasn't much impressed, actually! I don't know if this is normal in other countries (because in Italy it isn't) but...

Hi Rominafanzini, what a great name. Well, it's Saturday night and here I am trawling the chalkboard, I'm pretty new to it and just trying to find my way around while I've got the time and I must say I was very happy to stumble upon your blog about your interview experience with Vaughan Systems. I've been looking into applying with them. I like how they come across as veing pretty 'onto it' and organised, the only thing I was a little concerned with was how corporate they seem to be, hardly surprising I suppose seeing as they are teaching business English. The two week, unpaid, pay for a hotel blah blah blah would be a problem for me and a bit cheeky of them like you say. But you mentioned another company that might be better to work for, is that Pueblos Ingles? I'm really looking to teach in Spain so if you had any top tips I'd greatly appriciate them. Happy flemenco dancing...Lara x

Hi! Did you have any difficulties finding a job as a non-native English speaker? I m
am considering taking a TEFL course, but have doubts because I am from Slovakia, so English is not my mothertongue...

Cool! Sounds like a good plan - you might want to chat to this girl who's teaching in Italy at the minute to see if she's got any advice: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/cherogoth

Best of luck with it all and if you have any questions about courses etc get in touch on here or give us a call on +44(0)871 781 1123

Hi!

Thank you! I'd love to teach here in my home country (Italy) or in Spain, although I'm also open to other possibilities! :)

Hey,

Welcome to Chalkboard! Where are you hoping to teach?
