ESL & Sewing

Yesterday was the launch of the Sudanese students handprinted products at the local council offices. Approximately 50 guests arrived for a morning tea and celebration of the great achievements the ladies have made over the past 12 months. We sold lots of tea towels, aprons and bags that had been screen printed by the group and now they are ready to move on to the next phase of learning. Today we start the business modules and continue on with finishing their skirts in readiness for the fashion parade which is looming up quickly and turning into a multicultural feast and party! The students have all decided that they will come in their traditional dress and give lessons on African dancing and the Bangli students are going to give demonstrations on how to wrap and wear a sari. To say that my students are "engaged in learning" is a bit of an understatement!  Cheers Robyn

Haha you're funny...thanks for your update Robyn. Good luck with your Grad Dip...look forward to hearing you have achieved it.

Cheers

Hi Sanne, everything going along OK with Grad Dip. It's all about timing at the moment. Have not been able to get to the last meeting for final OK but it appears that all is well. Should have it wrapped up when I return to Aust in November. I am off to Thailand on Tuesday and after what was a frustrating week with red tape and bureaucracy myself ( I did read your post to Paul) I might just stay there! If only my husband had the same wanderlust as I do. Maybe next year for him.  hahaha Take care and I will try to post some blogs while I am away but hoping not to get too close to a mobile phone, computer or Ipod for two weeks. Cheers
