I'm currently in the middle of a two year teaching stint in a public high school in Seoul, South Korea. I was only planning to stay one year but have fallen in love with the place, the job, the people and the food. And K-pop of course! Before South Korea I taught in Harbin, China for 5 months and spent a month travelling around the country. Currently saving up my wons to do 6 months volunteering in Cambodia and India before hitting South America. LIFE IS SWEET.

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountThanks for the advice lol :P I may just have to stuff my suitcase full of haribo and dairy milk! And i will endeavour to eat roast dinners from now until february ;) As for the language i dont expect to be an expert but if i can order some food and water to survive my first solo days in Seoul then that will be great lol! The waiting is terrible and i have been told a few horror stories about having to prepare an instant lesson plan when the teachers change their mind about you having a free class. I think its time i re studied my TEFL! :P
Are you still enjoying it?
Hey hey. Hows things going? Hope everything is still going great! I thought it was bad during the application process submitting everything early has left me literally having to wait months now! Just wanna get out to SK. Any advice for me on preparing for Korea? I recently got the Korean rosetta stone programme so gonna try and learn some basics before i go. And thinking of heading out to Seoul 3-4 days before orientation to get settled in and see the sights :)

Hi there!
My name is Louise and I'm thinking about doing the China internship in about a year. I'm just wondering how you found it? Do you think it was worth doing? Were you supported well?
I would really appreciate any info you could give me, if you wouldn't mind of course!
Thanks,
Louise
P.S. I've been reading your blogs and some of them are sooooo funny! Keep up the good work! :D
nah haven't had my interview yet but it's due this wednesday morning. If it all goes well then yep, i'll be heading to korea in feb for defo! wish me luck! arrrrgghhh i'm bricking the interview looool!

Hey! Thanks for your comment! Im getting really excited now :) I read some of your blogs a while a go and it does sound like your having an amzing time. I am going to Ulsan so hopefully it is still going to be lively.....maybe I should have went to Seoul but oh well! I have had a lot of advice on the types of things I should take with me....deodrant, shoes, bras etc! Maybe you could give me some advice on the things I shouldnt bother packing! maybe save me some room in my case for my years supply of deodrant and chocolate! haha ;) Is there any types of clothing I shouldnt bother bringing such as high heels or dressy clothes? or do people stil like to dress up over there? How much money do you think will be enough to cover my living costs until I get paid? oh and last question do I exchange my money when i am in Korea or should I bring it all in Won?
Hope ur having fun in malaysia! Hope to hear from you soon! Mel xx
Heya, final question i think before i set off, how is it to find clothes in China? As i'm a UK 14 and is wondering how easy it is to find clothes as they all are tiny. As i've read quite a few guides which say it's hard to find biggish clothes, so to prevent me from packing on all of my wardrobe, will i be able to find clothes over there?
Thanks for the info :) i have a lot to work through. I am currently trying to start the 500 word essay which should be fun :P Glad i started this a few months early gives me a lot of time! The letters of recommendation seem the most difficult part people are happy to help but not when they have any kind of deadline lol. Anyways hope lifes still an adventure :) Take care. Ash
