Win £20 Amazon Vouchers?

Surely this is a bit of a con? Haha. I received an email from i-to-i saying 'how many students do schools in China usually have?' If you get it right you win the vouchers. Anyway.. surely it depends on the size of the school? My high school has around 8,000 and my middle school around 4,000.

Handan, parties and hi-tech hotpots!

Well, been a while! I actually didn't like Handan when I first got here, but now I love it! Recently, me and my fella broke up, which is all good. So I've been spending a lot more time with Chinese people and my Mandarin is coming along a lot better for it! Over the festive season, we didn't get much time off. Just a long weekend, but had a great time in the few nightclubs...

Does it get any easier?

A question for all you teachers out there. Does it ever get 'easy'? I have good days when the class goes well and I think I'm a great teacher and other days when my class sucks for one reason or another and I think I'm a terrible teacher. I'm not scared or nervous when I walk into the class, but sometimes I feel I could be doing better. I have no text books or materials...

Arriving in China!

Well, if anyones reading this, they will know that i'm really behind on my blogs! I can blame it on the rubbish Chinese internet, and my laziness really. Haha. Anyway, rolling back the clock... We arrived in Beijing in the afternoon on 1st June after two 7 hour flights via Dubai and surprisingly it was quite fast getting through the airport and customs and stuff. We left the airport and were met by a Chinese...

Twelve days to go. China here I come!!

Thinking that I would be able to pick up work here and there in a bar or restaurant...

One of the interviews was just an informal phone call, she said that she just wanted to hear our voices to make sure she could understand us! :D It went well, though only lasted about 5 minutes and i've since found out she wanted it to be longer. So i think we need...

Taking the plunge, applying in China!

Well, my boyfriend and i have finally taken the plunge and started applying fof TEFL jobs in China. Mainly ones i have found on Daves cafe and other websites like that. Things were a bit rocky to start with. We didn't know who to do a TEFL with, or even to do one at all for that matter. What we finally decided was to apply for jobs and get over to China asap.
