Had the best weekend ever! Found a punky, grungey indie-type bar on friday called Mao Live, seen a band called the Mushrooms that were better than expected, sounded like a mix between Lost Prophets and Brand new, not that I like either of them bands but anything that wasn't pop or RnB was always going to be a welcome change. Just had my first real test in terms of disciplne, Simon, a very disinterested student, was slouching more than normal, so obvioulsy i chose him to answer a question. Hey there,

My name is Emma and I work on the i-to-i team as an Online tutor. The China Internship team are constantly trying to improve the intern experience and have asked me to create some new materials to aid new teachers in their first few weeks. So I thought who better to ask than the interns themselves!!! So, in terms of teaching, my questions to you are:

What would you have liked more help on and what have you struggled the most with in your lessons?
How do you find teaching Chinese students?
What activities do you find work well with your students?

Any feedback, good or bad would be much appreciated. If you didn't feel comfortable and felt stressed here is your chance to let us know and you will be helping future interns.

I am going in August and I have to say that your favorite parts of China gave me hope! I'm excited.. very nervous but excited.. I guess if it is horrible I can just look at it as one expensive trip to a bar :)

Just seen your post - sorry you've not had the best experience in China so far - it's really important that we get people's feedback though so we can make sure changes are made where they need to be made. If you could please email courses.teamuk@i-to-i.com with any issues you've had, we'll work with TTC to work through them.

Still need insurance, flights and visa to return from the black hole that is the chinese embassy. They lost my passport for a short time so that was fun! Hate being last minute, sure i'll get it all done though.
