I've signed on for the 2012 August Vietnam Internship and am currently going through my TEFL online training. I'm 24, and I am generally very laid back and easy-going with all things in life; no point cutting your life short with stress. Been a Special Constable for 2 years now, wanted to join the Police since I left school but since I graduated from university the police haven't been recruiting and won't likely recruit anytime soon! Teaching was always my second choice so here I am.
Hey, Im 22 turning 23 very soon. Travelled around South-East...

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountthink that's what i'm gonna do with the flights, i can't imagine i'm gonna want to come back to england in the middle of winter when there's so much i wanna see :) i just sent off checkpoint 3 of the 60 hour bit and i've done the 1st review in the grammary one. my head's still intact so i think i'm doing well so far :) hows yours going?
hey, ah brain medicine so to speak, so the taking out the sheep bit is quite apt haha, yeah I got a letter from my doc for customs or anyone else that needs it so should be grand, we might be able to set up a pharmacy if the teaching gig aint right for us ha
those island tours sound amazing! the north definitely seems the way to head, think i'll find a buddy to go up with :) you can get the train straight to hanoi for about £35 but i think i'd want to stop off along the way. i read about a ferry from near ho chi minh to halong bay but i can't find anything about it online so i'll check it out when i get there. have you booked your flights out already?
good call on the essential book, looks like it could be a life saver. i didn't even know of its existence but i'll order that right now. thankyou sir :) i'd love to stay for another term if they offered, otherwise i'll probably stick around as long as the dong lasts :D i'd really like to go up the fansipan mountain so i might try and make my way north for that then fly back from hanoi. i'll figure it out when it comes i guess, i might be gagging for cheddar and need to come back :D what you thinking of doing?
hey hey i'm on the vietnam internship as well :) ridiculously excited at the moment! how's the course going? does it get super hard? i've done the first assignment which was fine i think but i have a feeling i'll be fried by the end. so i may be asking for help in the near future :)
I've not booked my flights yet as not wanting to pick a return date!! Haven't even decided where to fly from yet as flights from Jersey to the uk are pretty challenging to get booked, let alone to somewhere as exotic as Vietnam! I've nearly finished my course, just the teaching large groups left to do. Albeit I started it a looong time ago and had to put on hold so I'm definately going to need a refresher :o)
Good luck with it!
Hey Richard, Did you get through your interview? Finally booked my flight today, so it's now all very real!! Have only travelled europe and america so I'm expecting this to be a real culture shock. Have you been before?
Hi Richard!
Oh I wish I was doing the Vietnam internship!
My stomach actually flipped a little when I read that message. It's studying, library visits and lectures for another year for me and then I'm hoping to go on one of the internships.
I'll be calling on you for tips and advice!
Exciting!
Hi Richard...
Yeh really excited, been before so cant wait to go back, its a great place! I got the acceptance letter last week so just waiting to be placed etc....I've not started the online course yet as I have a load of exams coming up but once they're out the way can crack on with it :) how you getting on with the app?
Hey Richard,
Really excited and a bit nervous about vietnam. I have been to Malaysia twice on the way to Australia and the climate is similar to vietnam, or so I believe. Basically it's wet and hot, but I believe the scenary towards the north of the country is beautiful and I think we'll have missed most of the rain in the south by the time we're out there, hopefully.
Ciao for now,
Anthony.
