Comments - South Korea information PLEASSSSEEE!!!!!!!
Start applying early as it may help you have more options about where you are placed if they accept you. The deadline is November 15th. I know, because I screwed that up last year. How soon do you want to start work? Private language academies (hagwons) hire all year long as contracts expire according to no particular academic schedule. EPIK is a good deal. It's possible that if you started applying immediately, you could get a job and finish your TEFL as you work. Though it's not required, TEFL makes you a stronger candidate. Once you secure a job it generally takes a month to get all of the paperwork taken care of.
Hi, I'm currently applying for jobs now in South Korea for December and there are quite a few about. But I've found these through contacting schools directly and sending my CV.
So there are other jobs than the EPIK contracts too. Just so you know!
Hey Damien,
Welcome to Chalkboard - you can apply for the EPIK program through i-to-i's partners footprints here: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-jobs-abroad/south-korea.html - there's still places for March 2011 so you should be fine. For more information about teaching in South Korea you should chat to these girls who are currently teaching there:
