Good luck, sweetie!!  Do watch out though.. many places I've seen have asked for 20 and up. But don't get discouraged and don't stop looking and trying.  Never be afraid to email the school and ask them about age being an issue either.

You have your whole life ahead of you!!  I guess if you like the idea of teaching English, just go for it.  I am going to be 40 in October and I am just getting ready to sign up for a course.  Just go for it, life is too short and it's definitely not a dress rehearsal...

Maybe you should check out some of the tours that i to i do they look really great. What do you want to do, work your way around the world?

Welcome to Chalkboard and congratulations on deciding to leave Alabama behind! Just to answer your questions:

1) As far as your TEFL course provider goes, make sure you pick one that's accredited by an independent body, such as the ODLQC, and whose certificates are internationally recognized. You don't want to go through all the effort of doing a TEFL course and then find out that your certificate isn't accepted by schools worldwide! i-to-i ticks all these boxes btw ;-)

2) Are you thinking of teaching between high schools and college? Or are you not planning to go to college? If it's the first, you might want to wait until after you finish college, as you'll be able to teach in a lot more places (in a lot of countries you need a degree in order to get your work visa).
