If anything, I just wish it was cheaper to get to the States. Heck, it's pricey for me to get to Ukraine from Serbia. 400$ USD no matter whether I book one way or round trip, coming back at Christmas.

Sounds like me and Nemanja almost.  We were on a forum together and we just started talking and talking and talking. Never stopped. Best thing I ever did was risk it and board that plane.  He agrees though he wishes I would have secured a job before coming over. I'm hardheaded though.

And thank you.. you seem very sweet too!

Thanks so much! You seem so sweet. :)

That's a wonderful story and it's funny because it's the same way my husband & I met! After I went to Italy for vacation that first time, I came back to the states just missing it so much and wanting to make Italian friends online. So, I'd opened an account on a few different networking sites and I saw his picture on one of them. I just kept going back to it time & time again and then added him as a friend; and the rest is history! We kept our relationship for six months before actually meeting face to face, and then I went to Rome to study Italian and we saw eachother during the week and stayed together on the weekends. I moved there permanently last year and I just love him to pieces. Just wish Italy was closer to the States so I could visit family more.

Well I'm glad to hear that your health is better and you're back on your feet getting things in motion.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.  All notifications I receive via phone so if you need something and just PM me here on the board.. I'll sign in and get back with you. :)  As for my boyfriend.. we actually met online. I was ina 6 year relationship when we met.  We were just friends. He was helping me to understand some of my genealogy as there isn't always the best source of material stateside.  He was there when my exboyfriend and I split.. but we were still friends.  Then I realized I wanted more and so did he.  We had had many video chats, emails, and such.  I got my first TEFL certification, jumped on a plane, and hoped for the best.  And while things have been great between he and I, the work aspect has put me in Ukraine come August.  I'm hoping with my experience in Ukraine and having my uni degree finished then that work options will be much better.  How did you meet your husband?

That's wonderful that you enjoy it so much. I love Italy; I went for the first time for a family vacation in 2007 & just fell in love. To be completely honest, I love Rome as a city but don't want to live there for the rest of my days; it's extremely chaotic and stressful, there's too many people & many things don't work as they should. But, there are great aspects too, of course. Right now I'm not working; I had a few odd jobs in the past year and then I had some serious health issues which kept me at home for a while. Now I'm looking to start up again, and English teaching was always the first job I wanted. Did you meet your boyfriend in Serbia? :)

Absolutely love Serbia. I love Slavs though in general.  I'm a bit bias being one and having a Serbian boyfriend I guess. LOL  I feel at home here unlike in the States.  Though it's a bit intimidating coming to a country where the reputation is "Some of the hottest women in the world - naturally"... it's a bit easier now that I've been here for a while.  How do you enjoy Italy?  I haven't ever been. My sister has been to Rome for a short bit and she loved it.  What do you do now for work?

That's great! I've been to Nashville a few years back & I really adored it. It's one of my favorite cities. I've lived in Rome off and on for the last two years or so, but for the last full year I lived there with my husband all year round. Now I'm in the states visiting family, but I'll go back at the end of July. :) How do you like Serbia?

Born in NC, lived in TN most of my life... Been here in Srbija since January. :)

How long have you been in Italy?

Hi there,

Thanks for the comment! :) I'm originally from Oregon, how about you?

I was raised to believe that all things happen for a reason.  Sounds like you're on the path to what you want to do.  Being that you already live in Italy (assuming you also have passport/citizenship) a job will be much easier for you.

I'm from the States, as well.  Where are you from?
