So its been awhile since ive actually had access to internet to write a blog and talk to friends and family.
I moved from Hitachi to Miyako on Sunday and then stayed in a hotel after about 7 hours of travelling...
The following day was moving in day but at the same time i had much to sort out, such as id card, phone, furnishing etc...all wish could not have been done without the help if my helper...(i shall call him Mr I)
Here in japan interac know how hard it can be to sort out things due to the amount of paperwork...so if you know no japanese that you just wouldnt be able to do it without a helper.
Mr I has acted as a translator as well as someone to show me the area and also helped me by taking me to the shops and setting up bank accounts....btw, if you didnt know, japan runs on paper. So expect a lot of waiting and running backwards and forward.
It took 3 banks and nearly 3 hours just to get my travellers cheques sorted. so for a week and a half i havent had much money to live on which is why today i was finally able to get a phone and large items for my flat...
pictures and a video will come but at the moment i have to wait for internet to be set up which can take 4 weeks and sso mr I has kindly allowed me to use his computer.
I am actually staying in yamada, about 30mins south of miyako. its a small quiet town. ive already experience some culture shock by not being able to drive having moments of panic whereby at the time i thought i would be able to contact home for 2 weeks and also not being able to speak to the local due to lack of japanese skills.
but im still here so allis fine...
keeping checking back be next week i start teaching

Hi Paul
Good bloggage so far! It's good to know that Interac provide you with help for all the important stuff. Do you know when you start teaching yet then? Or have you got time to explore the area a bit first?
