Since completing my TEFL course back in January I have accepted a job in Japan working for Interac.
I shall be based in 3 High Schools in the North of Japan (Miyako City, Iwate).
My leaving date is 3rd April, thats in about 9 days. I have everything ready (i think and hope), I occassionally burst out into song singing "All my bags are packed" and then realised that my mum is in the room trying to be happy for me when I know all she is thinking is "My son is leaving me and going to the other side of the world". She is worried but she was worried when I went to school, she was worried when I went to Uni, she was worried when I moved to a different city...it is perfectly natural for mothers (and fathers) to be worried. Heck, I'm worried BUT my are good worries, the ones anyone would get...the ones like, will I have enough underwear for the first week, will i be able to buy chocolate there, will the children like me...
But literally everything I need is more or less packed (except the odd item of clothing and my toothbrush). The Visa application was easy enough, even my CRB application form wasn't that confusing like I though it maybe...i think the hardest part was the initial application form for Interac, which now seems so long ago.
So for the time being I keep going through my check list, making sure I see friends for the last time, I have also set up skype (with a webcam) for my mum and i have sold most stuff I dont need...everything is done and so i am counting down the days
Wish me Luck!!!
Paul
