Earlier this morning when I decided to check my emails I found that I had received a comment on my last blog post.
It turned out to be a link from a new member called "Truly" who for some reason took the time and effort to create an account for the sole purpose of finding my blog to live a link.
Of of was curious as to why someone would go to some much trouble...

Its a very exciting webpage whereby the person who wrote the first post happened to be bored one day and decide to go through lots and lots of blog posts and then decided that i was the person he would try and pull apart.
The most hurtful thing about this person is the first blog he decides to pull apart is the one where i write about my aunty dying. His main focus is on my spelling and how some of the comments dont ring true to him.
So, i apologize to anyone who reads my blogs and finds spelling mistakes...as many of you write comments and blogs yourself you probably do the same, especially when you write fast and dont have time to proof read. Of course this has nothing to do with how I teach english...in fact as a dyslexic person i learn through speech and images - when learning a new language the fastest way to learn is through speech and languages...why do you think you do drilling a lot.
The thing i noticed about this site is that it is for JETs...i am with Interac. Interac is one of the largest private companies and in recent years i know that the JET program reduced its number of intakes because interac has taken on more schools...so amongst some JETs they decide to take an instant dislike to people from other countries...
This is not true for all JETs...in fact in the north of japan most people from all companies get along...recently the JETs we having a leaving party and everyone was invited...including interac people...
But because of the direct attack towards me, the fact they have decided to use a very personal blog and that they have used my photos i am going to take a break from blogging and posting pics/videos - if the other site continues then i will gradually take down videos and pictures...
This site is suppose to be here for teachers to help each other, give advice and to help those thinking of becoming teachers. I am not here to accept person attacks just because i write about my life...
So for now...this is my last blog

well i wouldn't take it personally, the forum is mainly govenerned by commerically orientated people
Thanks for you support...i am going to keep writing...i put up a new blog recently explaining that the blogs i write are also for my friends and family so they can keep updated.
Plus i do i get a lot of people asking questions and so rather then let the other person win by me stopping writing i am going to continue and hopefully help more and more people to show him that even if i do make mistakes here and there that at the end of the day it doesnt really matter...

Sorry to hear about the other blog, I had a read through and it seems like some of us still think we are in school! I know it must be upsetting but I honestly wouldn't let it bother you, either this guy has way too much time on his hands or he's pretty jealous that you're living it up in Japan! (I know I am!) I hope this won't discourage you from writing about your time abroad on here, I must admit I usually look forward to reading your blog when I get in to work!

Goodness, looking at the blog there seem to be SO MANY different people sitting there and reading your blog. In this day and age... blogging is a common way to sort of get fants and get attention... these people have just chosen to pick you a part.
You're a great blogger and maybe you have typos but your not writing to please others... you're writing about your experiences so that happier people (like me!) can feel like... even though we're stuck at home... we're sharing this experience with you. Needless to say, you started blogging because you thought this was a safe environment where you could write comfortably. It surely is a safe environment where the majority of us love reading your blogs. I'm sorry these people ruined it for you!

I just had a read through that blog (the one you're referring to) and it's honestly pathetic. I know you're not letting it get you down but honestly, they're just picking on you because you're giving a positive portrayal of your experience abroad... a program with which they they seem to disagree. I read your blogs and am happy to see someone having a great experience teaching English... and doing something different abroad.
I know this isn't comforting to hear... but the fact of the matter is they're able to give you negative reviews because they've actually been interested in what you've written. If you didn't write engaging blogs with interesting topics, they probably would have ignored it altogether. At the end of the day if somebody reviews you OR even tears you to pieces, it's because you're a worthy blogger (person!) to be critiqued. You've written something that held their attention and maybe even intimidated them. Every single person putting themselves out there...breaking the norms...and sharing their experiences... has received negative reviews at some point. While I 100% know why you're upset (as I would be too), a part of you should feel flattered.

One of my favourite quotes is 'Do not worry if others do not understand you, but instead if you do not understand others'....there will always be those out there (students included) who will pick at our weaknesses - but I guess it's down to us to laugh it off. I'm lucky enough to not have dyslexia and usually I'm very good at spelling (being an Eng Lit graduate!) yet I still somehow manage to spell things wrong on the whiteboard at times....I call it the 'whiteboard syndrome'! Teachers are humans and we all make spelling mistakes at times!!
If you took offense to the way this person corrected you in your use of English, then you have to wonder how his/her students feel.....the thing my students always comment on is having an approachable, friendly teacher who encourages them in the classroom!
Ignore negativity and do your best for your students - that's what matters :-)
