Hi, completed my 60hr Diploma of TEFL a couple years ago, been working on and off as a Teaching Assistant in the UK, work mainly as an Outdoor Activity Instructor running outdoor educational activities for schools. I have worked for 6 months in a boarding school in Doha, Qatar, but now wish to find anywhere that will utilise my sporting and TEFL skills along with many years as a manager in many areas. I am an adrenalin seeker, love adventure and sports mad, especially things like archery and mountain biking, although qaulified in so many to coach.
I now wish to give back so much more to the children of the future, encourage, enthuse, drive and lead those who require it more than most. The only problem is, I have little money in the bank, but ready to go immediately............

Hi Paul,
Great to read your diary entry. I am doing the 140 hour combined TEFL course. With the weekend course in Plymouth, living in cornwall. Your from around here?
I am really undecided between doing an internship or job firstly, in either China or Thailand. Im spending a lot of time looking at i to i stuff, doing the course and getting very excited at the future plans...!
Sounds like your having a great time.
Sam :)
Hi Paul!!
I can be the first one to say Welcome to Hohhot! I've been working for EF English First in Hohhot for over a year now. It's a cool city, when you come it's pretty cold at the moment so definitly bring lots of warm clothes :)
All us EF teachers are friends with the Aston teachers, we all hang out together, I guess you might have spoken to Luke already! They're a good lot, we can take you to our local bars and restaurants. Any questions about the city, just let me know :) Congrats on getting the job!
Hi Thorarin, thanks for the message, no I have only got the TEFL and have been lucky as I carry a few years life experience with me which helps. I have found out by applying, that not all require a Bachelors, they are few and far between, but they are out there. Just write to them an excellent covering letter explaining what you do have and why that is far better, then back it up with lots of passion, enthusiasm and CV.
Good luck with your adventure, I am sure you will find something.
Paul
Hi, thank you for accepting my friend request. I just want to get to know some people who were going through the process of finding work in another country. I was going to ask, do you have a degree? Or are you going with just the TEFL.
Thanks for any advice!
Thanks Laura for the link, yes I will work my way through them, I would love the opportunity to take me possibly to somewhere in Asia or Middle East as my first two choices, although Africa interests me, from when I trekked Kilimanjaro, I got a chance to see the real outback schools and the need to help the children. It is more of a case who will accept me and cover my costs to get me there.
I will certainly read up more and continue to look for that ideal opportunity.
Many thanks for your contact and first friend request.... ;-)
Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard. Great to see you're interested in teaching abroad, have you thought about where you would like to teach?
To get you started on the site you may want to take a look at the groups to get an idea of what teaching and living in different countries is like:
