Chalkboard is i-to-i's TEFL community.
It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!

I am currently yacht crew based in the south of France whilst studying hard on my on-line TEFL course! Once I am finished here in April I am looking to take the plunge and have a career change, however I am not 100% sure where I would like to teach yet! I do not have a degree so I know my options are somewhat limited to begin with. Chiang Mai is an absolute favourite as I have just spent some time there but realise the competition maybe stiff! I love to travel and explore and luckily have been able to extensively in my current job and altough I am ready for a career change, I am not yet ready to throw in the travel towel! I am very much looking forward to a (hopefully successful) career in teaching!

Thank you for your email! I am loving Chalkboard already, I can see it is a total wealth of information!
Thank you for your tips on what to look at on the site too, I appreciate it.
My job isn't so exciting at the moment as the boat I am currently working on is for sale so we are stuck tied to the dock! Quite advantageous for me though as I can study study study!
If I have any questions for you I wion't hesitate to ask.
Thanks again,
Gillian

I'd just like to welcome you to Chalkboard :-)
Wow your job sounds really exciting! How’s is life in France treating you?
Not having a degree may narrow your options a little but don't worry there are still plenty of opportunities out there!
Feel free to take a look around the site, I see you've already joined some groups but you may like to take a look at our recent posts too (simply click on the 'posts' or 'popular' tabs at the top of this page!)
I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!
Enjoy!
