Hmm.. you could apply for jobs first for both of you.. see what kind of response you get. If you have no luck.. why not the native speaker get a job, then when you get here, the non-native speaker could go in person to places.
I know of two cities off the top of my head that have many African and Egyptian teachers. Wuhan and Shijiazhuang.
Hey,
Sure. When you send your CV or apply for jobs, mention that you are looking to teach with your partner and attach both CVs and photos. Many job advertisements say they are looking for more than one teacher anyway. Generally if a school has the ability to provide working visas for foreigners, they want as many as possible.. in my opinion anyway.
Hi,
I think you can just book the Classroom part whenever you want to do it (within the six months you get to complete the whole lot). They give you a list of available dates when you are booking. Most of the people doing it when I did were near the beginning of the online course or hadn't started it at all. i found it useful to do it near the beginning - it gave me the confidence to know I could actually stand up and teach without specialist knowledge.
You are strongly advised to complete the online 60 hours before you sit any of the specialist modules. It makes sense - they are more in-depth and assume you've covered the basics.
Good luck! : )
Absolutely! Let's keep eachother informed about all that we hear :)
Hi,
My boyfriend and i are still getting our degrees but once we do we were planning to take the TEFL course and then go and teach in Japan. After reading the guide to teaching in Japan i discovered that if you know german, french or spanish you have more of an advantage because Japan is constantly involving itself with other cultures and languages. This is a plus because both of us are fluent spanish speakers. The down side is he is a spanish citizen but speaks fluent english. In the guide it states to get a visa you need to be an english, canadian, american etc citizen. What would we have to do to be able to fix this on his behalf? Also i am a british citizen living in spain and i have a double nationality spanish/english. You don't think this would affect getting a visa would you?
Thanks a lot.
