Ok so I have FINALLY gotten round to starting my blog, things have been a bit manic recently! Anyway, it's the morning of my 22nd birthday and I decided that it was the perfect time to start my brand new TEFL blog.
Right, the basics about me - I'm 22 (it's still at that early time of day where it sounds weird to say it!), living near London back at home as I'm working a (pretty soul-destroying) temp job whilst trying to save up money for my post-uni gap year. I've had a few hitches along the way, but think I've got my plan pretty much sorted now...or at least for now! I'm hopefully going to Buenos Aires in May to meet my boyfriend who's going out there in a couple of weeks, then we'll travel up to Rio and back, taking about a month before I fly back from Buenos Aires leaving him to carry on up to Ecuador. If anyone has been to that area I'd love any tips, if you think Rio and back is doable in a month and any places to see along the way??
The plan then is to get another temp job for a couple of months before (hopefully hopefully) setting off on the August China Internship. I've sent off all the documents and had an email saying that the guys in China may be in touch for a phone interview - this was just over a week ago now. In the meantime I've been getting a wriggle on with my TEFL course before my weekend course which is April 10/11th in London (anyone else going to that one??) and fast a) picking up some interesting teaching tips and b) realising that even though I did an English Lit degree I have ABSOLUTELY no idea about grammar! Shocking! All the tenses are already making my head spin, little rascals!
After China I'm hoping to head down to Oz and NZ and I'm also looking at doing some voluntary work in Africa (probably Ghana) before having to face the facts and get a 'real' job. So all in all I'm pretty excited, just can't wait for it to come around...and hoping I have enough saved up to pay for it when it does!!
