Two sore arms and a bit of a risk!

So today I went for my first set of injections for China, and very nearly passed out (mainly at the price!). I had the first of my rabies and japenese enceph., which will cost almost £300 in total, so Im almost hoping to get bit by a wild animal, just to make it worth it!!

I am pretty proud of myself though for finally getting these done, I feel like Im leaving things a bit late at the moment, as Im still working full time in my awful temping job, so everything seems a bit rushed! Ive learnt a total of 3 words in Mandarin (and Im pretty sure Im pronouncing them completely wrong!!) and Im debating risking it booking my flights tomorrow as prices are going up and up and up... although getting a little worried as my visa invitation is nowhere to be seen as yet!

BUT I am getting very excited about the whole thing, and every time anything vaguely Chinese comes on tv I jump up and down! My friends are all jumping on the bandwagon too, and I was given China Road by Rob Gifford - about a journalist travelling across Route 312 - for my birthday,  which was pretty awesome and actually taught me a bit about China too!

So the countdown begins, and the next few weeks will be filled with the million and one tiny things that I guess need doing before leaving the country for 8 months, general excitement and panic and hopefully hopefully a visa invitation very soon!

Injections are ridiculously expensive but it's better to have them!!

I'm the same as you - anything Asian related I'm trying to watch and read right now, although I'm not sure where abouts I want to go in Asia.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences in China!!
