"m a non-native speaker too, I have the same concerns as you do, and I also love to go to Japan, China, and Korea (what a conincedence!)
I've been worrying about which destinations to chose if I finish the course, so I dare not take any course yet. Now you raise the question and get a lot of advice, I read them all and feel kind of confident now.
Have you taken any course yet? How long have you gone? Can you share with all of us?
Sincerely yours,
MaiHuong (from Vietnam) :D
Hey Yee lin
How have you been?? Have you completed the course??How's the experience been?:)
Hi, Novziz.
I am May and glad to meet you.I am also a non-native speaker and am just getting to know about the TEFL. I am also wondering if i could get a job after taking TEFL course....Thereby, i cannot make a decision right away...so, what type of TEFL course will you be taken into your consideration? By the way, where are you come from?
Hey Yee Lin
Thanks for the reply!! So have u started with the course??
Hello Novziz,
I am just getting to know abt TEFL and my first concern like u is, if i'll be able to land in a good job after completing the course as am an Asian too(India).I Happened to come across the group you have created. So have u started with your TEFL course??What have you decided to do?
Hello Novzix,
I think more and more companies are realising that non native speakers make better teachers...but yes, it can make it more difficult to find jobs. I think if I were you I'd start doing my research and contacting companies. I think you'll find different countries have different policies and entry requirements too. I'd start looking in countries where there are many jobs going - like Italy, Japan etc.... have a look on www.tefl.com and http://www.eslcafe.com/
