Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHello Nina. Thank you for the comment. Your manarin is pretty good in pinyin. I must warn you though that while the Chinese use pinyin (romanized Chinese characters) the Taiwanese use phonetic symbols to type their characters so if you want to text in Chinese on your phone you are going to have to learn this.
To answer your inquiry Taiwan is a wonderful little island that has very friendly people. Not many people can speak English but if you speak a little bit of mandarin they will be surprised and impressed. Though you must be careful as to how you talk with them since most Taiwanese are very shy about talking with foreigners so try not to come on too strong with them.
There is so much more I can tell you but it is very hard to know what you are wanting to aquire without some sort of guideline. Please feel free to ask me questions. ^^
Hey Nina,
Welcome to Chalkboard! That's great you're interested in heading to Taiwan - you might want to chat to Heidi, who's super-experienced, having spent years teaching in Taiwan and has even written a book about it!

Hi Nina, have you started / in the middle of a TEFL course? Where are you hoping to teach once you've completed the course?
