heyy so i got my tickets booked, so we're definitely on the same flight :) i asked for south too, but i like the cold so wouldn't be too bothered going north... just i'm not bringing massively warm clothes with me as they take up lots of room! haha xx

I'm really sorry, but our partners in China are not able to confirm even the region of where you might be teaching before you go - no matter where you are though you need to think that you'll be going right from high summer (in August) to deep winter, so you'll need to bring a good mix of clothes wherever you're based.


 


If you are nervous about finding clothes to fit in China I would take basic clothes that you can layer up or down, such as plain trousers, t-shirts, jumpers, dresses etc. There's quite a handy article here which might help you: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/honor/posts/221-what-not-to-wear-while-teaching-in-china


 


Also, get in touch with the guys who are out there at the minute to ask their advice... I'm sure they'll be able to ease your clothing worries!

Thanks for your message - you find out exactly which school/area you'll be placed in during your orientation week in Beijing - the reason for this is that schools in China have a habit of changing their minds at the last minute - so to avoid chopping and changing everyone's placements, our partners in China just let everyone know where they'll be based once they're in China.

Hi Nikel, I see your doing China in august too and thought id say Hi and that i am also in 90-100% panic mode at the moment with a bit of excitment thrown in here and there! Good to know that others are feeling the same!
