Hey anybody heading to China in the next few months? I'm after getting a job in Fenghua and looking to get in contact with anybody else heading over. I'm a solo traveller as it stands. My teaching job is with Shane English school. Hope to hear from some-one soon!!

Hi Nicosu, you will have no problem meeting friendly and interesting people in Fenghua, though only a small town by the Chinese standard. If you are ever stuck for any reason, please let me know as I do have a few friends (native Chinese) nearby there.

Yes I went a few times with my last job and loved it. I've been trying to get back there ever since so this job is the fruits of 2 years of planning and scheming. I hope I'm not dissapointed, going out living in a 5 star hotel on expenses with a load of colleagues is probably a lot different to living on a teachers wage, in a concrete box full of your own washing for a year. Still even that sounds exciting! Hope you enjoy it too.
I'm going to Fenghua its south of Shanghai nearest city Ningbo. It's a much smaller city compared to anything else in China. No I have never been to China! Have you been yourself?
Its a university in Tianjin, 30 mins from beijing. Where you you going too? Have you been to China before?
It's very exciting!! I'm also due to start my job in the of aug. They want me to be in China on the 29th. There is so much to do and so little time. What school are you going teaching with? Best of luck with the plans!!
Totally new to me too. I've found the visa thing quite difficult, initially I had a really good job in a unioversity in Beijing lined up but they refused the foreign expert certificate because I did not have 2 years 'formal' teaching experience. I now have another job in Tianjin which I hope will go well. I was told the process takes up to 20 working days. I am due to start at end of August and was hoping to go out a week or 2 before to get settled so its cutting things a bit fine as I need to give a months notice of my current job. Its nerve wracking but increadibly exciting to think I may only have 2 weeks before I quit the pointless job I have at the moment.
Where in China are you heading? At the moment my school are starting to sort my visa so as of yet I'm not sure how long it will take. I don't think it should take too long tho once everything goes alright. This is my first teaching job abroad so it is totally new to me.
I'm hoping to go middle of august just trying to sort out that foreign teaching expert certificate. WHat type of visa have you got and how long did it take?
