Still Waiting

Well, I got my telephone interview with Interac, and now it's still more waiting!

While I wait for my application to be reviewed, and for a decision to be made, I have several concerns with TEFL in Japan that I would like to find out about.

First of all is exercise. I'm not exactly thin, and I would like to find something to help me lose some weight while I'm in Japan. However, I don't have much of an idea if where I will be going would have a gym near by, or any kind of sports centre. I'd like to get fit, I just don't know how.

The second is transport. Right now I don't have a driving license, and I don't know if I can get one in time. Would Interarc provide me with a job if I have to use public transport or walk all the time. Most of the teachers on here mentioned driving, and I don't know if I could do that in time for the start of the placement.

Finally, what about if I've finished my contract, and want to stay in Japan? Would Interac allow me to keep working? Or would I have to look for jobs elsewhere?

That's currently the things I am worried about, before I get to hear back on my appication...

As for your weight. Well if u like Japanese food count your blessings. Their food is wounderful and will go along way to help. I dont mean junk food, but good Japanese cooking. Cooking is an art. Walking is also very good. Hope all goes well for u. I am checking out teaching in Japan myself, for next year. good luck. Sasha
