Women encouraged to take TEFL course

Posted 08 Mar 2010

Ladies considering taking a TEFL course should not worry too much about security issues for when they actually head out to their chosen country, according to one source.

In an online conversation that took place on Literacy News recently, an anonymous 22-year-old user asked whether it is safe for a young woman to go to south-east Asia to teach, as she was considering taking a TEFL or ESL qualification.

She implied that she was concerned about going overseas on her own.

Responding to her query, Kataj claimed that they had not heard of any problems in the region and knew plenty of females who had gone to countries in the area to teach abroad.

"They tell me it was wonderful. The country they all like the most was Vietnam. Also, I think Indonesia was pretty highly thought of," noted the blogger.

One writer on the i-to-i Chalkboard, AstridC, recently described teaching as the best profession in the world.ADNFCR-2167-ID-19656991-ADNFCR
