Those seeking TEFL jobs in Brazil may be interested in one expert’s recommendation of Fernando do Noronha as a safe place that’s well worth a visit.
Sunvil Traveller consultant Lisa Rudkin was asked to name some of the country’s undiscovered gems and came up with the east-coast archipelago, which has earned a position as a Unesco world heritage site.
Comprised of 21 islands and sparcely populated, it is "considered one of the best areas in the world for diving" and a real treat for nature lovers.
"It is quite remote and great emphasis is placed on preservation of this declared national park," Ms Rudkin remarked.
Would-be visitors are warned, however, that the number of people allowed to travel to the area each day is restricted, in order to help preserve the natural environment.
Plane trips are available to Noronha from Natal and Recife, where tourists have the added option of travelling by boat.
