Visitors to Chile next month can enjoy a two-week festival on Easter Island, it has been suggested.
For people teaching English in the Latin American country, this could be an ideal opportunity to take a break, as ProChile states that "little work gets done and the discos run until morning".
The annual festival Tapati Rapa Nuin originates back to 1975 when it used to focus on poetry and song to attract tourists.
Now it has a "more sophisticated agenda", which includes native dance, chant, horse racing, woodcarving and traditional body decoration.
It starts on January 30th and runs until Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
And if that is not enough merriment for UK visitors, from February 23rd to 28th there will be "Latin America’s answer to Eurovision" the Vina del Mal International Song Festival.
It celebrates its 50th birthday this year and crowds will be encouraged to vote for the acts that perform on an open-air stage by booing or cheering.
According to the Lonely Planet, Chile is an excellent location for those who enjoy outdoor adventure as it has over 50 volcanoes to climb, a number of white water rapids to ride and ice-carved fjords to climb through.
