Those moving to China will soon ‘get more for their money’

TEFL-qualified people who plan to teach English in China could take advantage of the Chinese yuan travellers cheques, which have just been launched in the UK.

The Post Office announced on August 31st that it would be the only firm where the American Express Chinese yuan travellers cheques would be available.

These cheques could help those who plan to teach English in China get more for their money as they should boost the value of the yuan, which has seen a 13 per cent sales increase year-on-year for the first half of 2010.

Andrea Loddo, product and contracts manager at Hayes and Jarvis, which specialises in unique holiday itineraries, believes the Olympic Games helped China become a global player in terms of tourism.

She said: "The appeal of China has always been linked to a fascination with the country's heritage and history, combined with the opportunity to get to know more about a culture so remote from our own."
