Under French government plans children from the age of three will be expected to learn English.
This could mean that people with a TEFL certificate will be in even greater demand in France as more youngsters will be expected to learn the language.
It will also give those with a TEFL certificate an opportunity to teach English to nursery school age children.
Education minister Luc Chatel has announced that specialists are currently looking into ways to help improve the English skills in the country.
Suggestions include teaching English to children from the age of three and to develop ways for them to pick up language skills from the internet.
He is quoted by the Guardian TEFL as saying: "Specialists would investigate starting learning from age three. We have been experimenting with this and there have been some good results."
People with a TEFL certificate should be able to find a job teaching English in France easily as teachers are in high demand, especially in language schools and within businesses.
