TEFL jobs seekers ‘must take advantage of social networking sites’

Posted 26 Apr 2010

Using social networking sites while searching for TEFL jobs will make the process easier and open new doors for jobseekers, an industry figure has said.

Lisette Howlett, spokesperson for HireScores.com, claims that this is just one step those looking for employment can take to help their search and reach prospective employers.

"Finding ways to gain work experience in the sectors that you want to work in so that you can demonstrate valuable experience is a growing trend, as is the use of social media and social networking sites to get in front of the right people," she states.

Other steps those looking for TEFL jobs could take include doing volunteer and charity work to make one stand out more to potential employers.

Tor MacLeod, co-founder of careerplan4me, recently suggested that social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook can be a valuable resource to make oneself known and to contact others in the sector.
